I Just Don’t Know About Him

This cat. I just don’t know about him.

I’ve never been a cat person, but this one may be changing me.

He does all of those despicable cat things, like walking right in front of me causing me to trip and bringing in decapitated mice, birds, rabbits, etc.

And then he does things like this.

And I have to grab the camera every single time.

Eventually he gives me that face. And about 10 seconds later, he gets up and either waddles (he’s getting pretty fat) or sprints off.

I just don’t know about this guy.

Happy Monday!

“I Love You, I Love You, I Love You!”

We got the golf cart going for our little goofball last weekend.

We had to de-winterize it and charge it up before taking him for a little run.

But he was having a hard time waiting.

“No, I wasn’t just kissing it. Please don’t put that on your blog.”

I love him. I love him. I love him.

That’s why we call him our little goofball.

Happy Monday!

It’s Official!

I think it’s safe to say that Spring is finally here to stay!

We had a few hours where it was starting to look like winter again…

...But thankfully it was all gone by morning!

…But, thankfully, it was gone by morning.

Then, this morning the photography bug bit me. It was sunny, warm, and GREEN!

All of the trees and bushes are budding and everything is waking up again!

I love these! I don’t know what they are but we have a few of these bushes/trees scattered around and I can’t get enough photos of the flowers!

The llamas like having something other than hay to eat. They’ve been outside almost all day, every day for the past week or so!

Cokie and I even spotted some turkeys on our walk around the property!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
They’re way out there!

Speaking of Cokie, he really hates Spring.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

He’s an all-season dog! He loves the snow in the winter, but he really loves chasing the golf cart and swimming in the summer!

There were so many pinecones scattered around and the lighting was so perfect–I couldn’t resist!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Again, I don’t know what kind of tree this is (I’m so bad!), but I LOVE these little pom-pom-like things (so technical!)!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

They're everywhere! They're everywhere!
They’re everywhere! They’re everywhere!

But my favorite sign of Spring is seeing the Magnolia Tree (I know that one!) start to bloom!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI’ll be sure to post a picture of the tree in full bloom when the time comes!

Winters are hard. Ironically, this one wasn’t. But, usually winters are hard. Which makes all of these signs of Spring all the more sweet.

Happy Spring!

Bye Bye Bunny!

Unfortunately, the Easter Bunny didn’t make it out of my house alive yesterday.

This boy brought in an impressive sized rabbit yesterday morning and even ate off the foot (he must’ve really wanted some good luck!).

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I have to applaud his timing. Him bringing in a huge rabbit Easter morning is just too crazy.

He likes to window shop. And occasionally try to catch a snow shovel on the other side of the window.

He is seriously a serial murderer.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAs soon as the snow is gone, he brings us a present pretty much every day.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAHe also makes me laugh on a daily basis.

Cats are smart, right?
Cats are smart, right?

We can’t figure this out, but apparently he likes puzzles. He has to get his paws on every puzzle we pull out.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

IMG_2990He also loves Cocoa’s ropes. A holdover from his doggy days?

Sometimes he thinks he’s the King of the Jungle.

20131013_113613But after he does all of these things, he needs a little cat nap…

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA…which is exactly how he spent the rest of the day yesterday.

If he was awake, I’m sure Charlie would wish you all a happy (and belated) Easter!

Ahh, Mornings.

For most of my teenage years, I really tried to be a night-owl. Teenagers are supposed to stay up until 2am watching Friends and YouTube videos and chat with friends on Facebook, right? I did that two nights a week (because I’ve always been a goody-two-shoes and couldn’t justify staying up past 10:30 on a school night) for four years (6 nights in the summers; I had to get up early for church on Sunday) and really, really tried to like it. But I just never did. It didn’t feel natural and I hated missing out on the morning routine.

I even tried it a few nights a week in college before I just decided to embrace the fact that I’m a morning person. Don’t bother trying to keep me up late, because no matter what, I will be in bed by 10. And don’t “force” me to sleep in because I’ll be up at 7:30. Just the way I like it.

I don’t know how mornings got such a bad rap. They’re so magical and so many people just sleep right through them. It’s so peaceful. And beautiful.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Because I’m crazy and actually like spending time with my family, I’ve been driving two hours back down to school every Monday morning at 7 this semester. And because I’m a morning person, I actually like it.

I love watching the world wake up. MostĀ of my drive is spent on “country roads,” which add to the serenity and peacefulness I love about mornings.

This picture was taken this past Monday morning. I think it’s the most stunning sunrise I’ve witnessed this year. And that would include about 10 Hawaiian sunrises. So that’s saying something.

I am honestly so proud of myself for finally giving up the night-owl thing just to fit in and realizing that mornings are where I’m supposed to be. It’s my favorite time of the day. I literally go to bed every night excited about waking up the next morning.

It’s been a refreshing change for me.
